Legendary rappers like LL Cool J, Nas, and Bow Wow started making waves in the industry at a young age, paving the way for future generations. Other notable artists, such as Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott, and NF, also began their journeys in hip-hop during their formative years.

Now, another talented young artist is making a name for himself: 16-year-old Angel Siame from Matero, Lusaka. With his unique style and compelling lyrics, Angel is quickly gaining attention in the music scene. Let’s take a closer look at this fast-rising star and his promising career.

Angel’s professional musical journey began in 2024 when he was just 15 years old. Inspired by Zambian rapper Jay Cash, he started writing his own songs and adopted the stage name Wiz Jay. “I saw it fit me,” he says with a smile. With five songs already in the works, one of which is already out on YouTube and TikTok, Angel’s future looks bright.

His debut song, “Dear Ex,” is a poignant reflection on relationships and personal growth. The track narrates the story of an ex-partner who abandoned him during difficult times, only to reappear now that he’s achieved success. Through his lyrics, Angel conveys a powerful message about loyalty, perseverance, and the consequences of fair-weather relationships. With upcoming songs like “Life Yanga Ni Long Way” (featuring Boy Kider and Gucci Boy) and “Baby Don’t Leave,” Angel’s music is set to resonate with a wide audience.

With big dreams and a strong work ethic, Angel sees himself making a name in the music industry soon. “Even five years is too long for me,” he confidently says. He’d love to collaborate with James Jr from the Ape Ili So crew and is already planning music videos, starting with “Baby Don’t Leave.”

“I love competition, it’s what motivates me to do even more…..” – Wiz JAY

To his fans, Angel has a simple message: “Keep supporting me. Without you, me and my music talent are nothing.” When asked about the current competition in the industry, Angel has a refreshing perspective: “I love competition, it’s what motivates me to do even more. I can only know I’m in the right lane if there’s some competition. All I can say is, bring it on.” With this mindset, Angel’s determined to be one of the best, targeting a spot in the top ten best artists.

As this young sensation continues to rise, one thing is clear: Angel Siame is a name to watch in the Zambian music scene. With his passion, talent, and dedication, the future looks bright for Wiz Jay.
