Renowned Zambian musician Kay Figo is set to take the stage at the highly anticipated DJ Sky Zambia Birthday Bash, happening on Saturday, August 9th, at Palm Kalash Resort.
The event promises to be a spectacular celebration of music, entertainment, and lifestyle, featuring a star-studded lineup of prominent Zambian artists, entrepreneurs, influencers, and renowned radio and club DJs.
As the main guest artist, Kay Figo will bring her unique sound, which blends reggae, R&B, Afrobeat, and pop rhythms, to the stage. Born Cynthia Kayula Bwalya on July 23, 1985, in Luanshya, Zambia, Kay Figo has become one of the best female artists in Zambia and a significant figure in the African music industry.
With a career spanning over a decade, Kay Figo has made a lasting impact on the Zambian music scene. Her debut single “Chachilamo” in 2010 received massive airplay on local radio and television stations, while her debut album “Kanyelele” included hit songs like “Kanyelele,” “Phone,” “Chachilamo,” and “Wandowa,” selling over a thousand copies.
The song “Kanyelele” became a massive hit, topping charts across Zambia and other African countries, and making her the first Zambian musician to hit one million views on YouTube in 2012. Kay Figo has collaborated with notable artists like Chef 187, Mumba Yachi, Macky 2, and Dismanto, showcasing her versatility and talent.
She has won several awards, including the Born & Bred Music Video Awards for Best Female Video for her hit single “Shelle” in 2012, and has been nominated for other prestigious awards like the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA).
