Kadlow Tendess, born Mike Lombe Kadilo, is a name that’s been making waves in the Zambian music industry. His journey to stardom is one of resilience and determination, marked by a stint in prison and a new-found passion for music. Tendess’ latest single, “Tebanesu,” is a testament to his growth as an artist and his ability to weave compelling narratives through his music.
In an exclusive interview, Tendess shared his story, from his early days in Kabwe Central Province to his current status as a rising star in the music industry. “I started my music journey in 2019,” he revealed. “My stage name is Kadlow Tendess, and I’ve been working hard to make a name for myself in the industry.”
“Tebanesu” is a prime example of Tendess’ ability to craft powerful lyrics and soaring melodies. The song tells the story of betrayal and heartache, drawing from Tendess’ own experiences while incarcerated. “The song is about people who claim to be friends but are actually evil and jealous,” he explained. “It’s a warning to people to be careful about who they trust.”
The song’s message resonated deeply with Tendess, who experienced firsthand the pain of betrayal while in prison. “People that I considered to be my friends would talk bad about me to my wife when I was in jail, then turned to talk bad about my wife to me when I was released,” he recalled. “It’s a painful experience, but it’s also a valuable lesson.”
Tendess’ music is a reflection of his life experiences, and “Tebanesu” is no exception. Through his music, Tendess aims to educate and inspire his listeners, sharing his story of resilience and determination. “My songs are based on true life stories, and I hope they’ll educate and inspire people,” he said.
As Tendess looks to the future, he’s excited about the prospects of his music career. He’s currently working on an EP project, with plans to release it by the end of 2025. The EP will feature seven songs, four of which are already ready. “I’m asking people to support me and my music,” Tendess said. “I hope my music will achieve great things and have a positive impact on my listeners.”
