Cathy Martin, a Zimbabwean-UK-based entrepreneur and fitness professional, affectionately known as ‘Boss Lady’ and Madam Kasongo, has once again made a significant impact in the world of fitness and bodybuilding.

The renowned fitness expert has announced that Fitness Physiques Africa, a leading organizer and sponsor of fitness events in Zambia and Zimbabwe, will sponsor the Open Bodybuilding Category at this year’s Zed Nationals, also known as the Mr. Zambia Bodybuilding Competition, for the third consecutive year.

The highly anticipated event — a premier showcase of strength, discipline, and wellness — is scheduled for December 6th, 2025, at the Government Complex in Lusaka.

As the first and only female in Africa hosting fitness and bodybuilding shows, Martin, a multifaceted personality with a passion for philanthropy and beauty, is breaking barriers and promoting the growth of the sport across the continent.

Standing tall with an iron will and a physique to match, Martin is a force to be reckoned with. Her chiseled features and toned muscles are a testament to her dedication to fitness, and her unwavering commitment to empowering others is inspiring.

In an exclusive interview, she revealed that her journey in the industry has not been without challenges, being a female in a male-dominated field. “Things aren’t always easy, but nothing scares me, and they call me Boss Lady for a reason,” she said.

Martin expressed her sincere gratitude to the Zambia Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (ZBBFF) executives for the opportunity to host the prestigious event, the Fitness Physiques Africa in Zambia, describing it as a milestone she holds dear to her heart, and a testament to her commitment to promoting fitness and bodybuilding in Africa.

“This event is more than just a competition; it’s a platform to empower individuals, promote healthy living, and inspire the next generation of fitness enthusiasts,” Martin emphasized.

The spotlight will also shine on William ‘Machine’ Sichone, the reigning Fitness Physiques Africa Tournament Champion, who will be representing the organization as an Ambassador of Fitness Physiques. Standing at an imposing height with a chiseled physique, Sichone is a dominant force in the fitness world.

His razor-sharp abs, bulging biceps, and powerful physique are a testament to his unyielding dedication to the sport. As he continues to dominate what comes his way, Sichone is a role model for aspiring fitness enthusiasts.

In addition to her sponsorship, Martin is launching a boxing club under the ‘Body By Cath’ Boxing Academy – Fitness Physiques Africa. This new venture aims to promote boxing as a sport and provide a platform for fitness enthusiasts to stay active.

She has also hinted at plans to donate money to orphanages in Zambia as part of her efforts to give back to the community through sports, with Sichone, the two-time Fitness Physiques Africa Tournament Champion, serving as the brand Ambassador of the organization.

As the owner and trustee of The Martin Reach Charity, Martin supports children from underprivileged backgrounds, providing them with access to healthcare and education globally.
A qualified cosmetic nurse prescriber, she is also the owner of Skin-By-Cathy, a venture that embodies her vision of ageless beauty, promoting wellness and self-care.

“Giving back to the community is not just a responsibility, it’s a privilege,” Martin said. “I’m committed to using my platform to make a positive impact on the lives of others, and I’m proud to be part of a community that shares my vision.”

Martin’s philanthropic efforts extend beyond Zambia, as she runs a charity organization in the UK, aimed at contributing to the African continent. Her dedication to giving back to the community through sports has earned her recognition and respect in the industry, with many hailing her as a trailblazer and role model.
“Empowering communities through sports is crucial for sustainable development,” Martin emphasized. “It’s not just about promoting physical health, but also about building character, fostering teamwork, and creating opportunities for young people to thrive.”
