LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – Residents of Matero Constituency are celebrating the achievements of local hero William ‘Machine’ Sichone, a two-time Fitness Physiques Africa champion who continues to make waves in the bodybuilding world.

Speaking to this publication, Henry Mwanza, a senior citizen from Lilanda, expressed his pride in Sichone’s accomplishments, describing him as a role model for young people in the community.

“We are thrilled to have a champion like ‘Machine’ Sichone representing our constituency on the international stage,” Mwanza said. “His dedication to his craft is an inspiration to many, and we are proud to call him our own.”

Echoing Mwanza’s sentiments, Mary Katongo, a resident of Matero, urged young people to emulate Sichone’s healthy lifestyle.
“William is truly a shining example of what can be achieved through hard work and determination,” she said. “I encourage our youth to follow in his footsteps and prioritize their health and wellbeing.”

Another resident, a young bodybuilder, congratulated Sichone on his continued success and wished him all the best for the upcoming Alex Classic competition in Zimbabwe on December 12th, 2025.

“We are proud of you, ‘Machine’! Your persistence and passion for bodybuilding are an inspiration to us all. Go out there and show them what you’re made of!”

Sichone has emerged victorious as Mr. Ironman, Mr. Matero, and Mr. Lusaka, and recently won the highly coveted Manicaland Classic Open Bodybuilding Division Championship, which was held in Mutare, Zimbabwe.

The annual event attracted top bodybuilders from across the region, but Sichone’s impressive physique and dedication to his craft set him apart from the competition. His impressive performance earned him a cash prize of US$1,000, further solidifying his reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the bodybuilding world.

He also took second place at this year’s Zed Nationals – Mr. Zambia Bodybuilding Competition. With his sights set on new challenges, Sichone is sure to continue inspiring bodybuilding enthusiasts in the region and beyond.

As ‘Machine’ prepares to take on the best of the best in Zimbabwe, residents of Matero Constituency are rallying behind him, proud to call him their own.
