Lusaka, Zambia – Aspiring Member of Parliament for Munali Constituency, Obbie Musunga Chomba, hosted the inaugural Unity Cup football tournament, which concluded on Sunday with a thrilling final match between Hellen Kaunda FC and Monarch FC.

The tournament, which drew large crowds from Munali residents, saw Monarch FC emerge victorious with a 3-1 win over Hellen Kaunda FC.

Chomba, whose campaign slogan “Amatwi Kubantu” (Listening to the People) has resonated with residents, announced that the Obbie Chomba Unity Cup will now be an annual event in Munali Constituency.

In an interview, Chomba emphasized the importance of unity and community building, stating that the tournament aimed to create strong social bonds essential for sustainable development.

He also highlighted his commitment to identifying and nurturing young talent, providing positive opportunities for young people to stay focused and away from negative influences.

Chomba expressed his enthusiasm for partnering with stakeholders to support sports infrastructure development, particularly at Kalingalinga Ground, a key facility for training and matches in Munali.

He extended his appreciation to partners, stakeholders, community members, and participating teams for making the tournament a success.

The Unity Cup is part of Chomba’s broader vision for Munali Constituency, focusing on listening to the people and driving development through community engagement.
