The Evelyn Hone College Fashion Show 2024 reached new heights of excellence, delivering a dazzling spectacle that showcased the outstanding creativity, skill, and artistry of the institution’s Fashion Design students. On December 7th, 2024, the college premises transformed into a vibrant runway, as the event seamlessly blended innovation, determination, and style, leaving an indelible mark on the fashion landscape.
The event took place from 15:00 to 18:00, showcasing an impressive array of designs crafted by talented Fashion Design students. As the lights dimmed and the music pulsed, the audience was transported to a world of glamour and sophistication. The students’ designs were a testament to their tireless efforts, creativity, and dedication to their craft. Each garment was a masterpiece, reflecting the students’ growth, creativity, and ability to produce high-quality designs under pressure.
Fashion Lecturer and mentor, Mr. Sikayuta, praised the students, saying, “These students are remarkable, not just for their talent, but for their growth, creativity, and ability to produce high-quality designs under pressure.”
Evelyn Hone College student and esteemed fashion entrepreneur, Kadija Konate Kouture, teamed up with Ruth Msoni, Maureen Phiri, and Jennipher Mumba to create a captivating collection called “The Honourable.” This impressive showcase, a result of their collaborative effort, featured exquisite mermaid-style dresses, including a show-stopping piece with a meticulously tailored corset. Their teamwork in designing “The Honourable” collection garnered thunderous applause from the enthralled audience, solidifying their collective position as rising stars in the fashion world.
Renowned fashion industry figure, Fay Designs, made a special appearance, imparting valuable wisdom to the students. “Marketing is key,” she emphasized. “If you market yourself well, customers will find you anywhere.” Her words of wisdom resonated deeply with the students, who eagerly absorbed every tip and insight.
The event drew a remarkable crowd, as numerous students flocked to marvel at the impressive creativity and exceptional skills displayed by their fellow peers, showcasing a truly inspiring display of talent and innovation.
