BETRAYAL ROCKS ZAMBIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY: AWARD-WINNING DIRECTOR SAMMIE DEE SPEAKS OUT

A shocking tale of friendship and betrayal has sent shockwaves through the Zambian music industry, with renowned multi-award winning music video director, Sammie Dee, at the center of the controversy. Well-known in the entertainment industry as the “Visual Magician,” making the impossible possible, Sammie Dee real names, Samson Lungu, has worked with numerous top Zambian artists and has earned a reputation for his creative genius.

According to Sammie Dee, his former friend and colleague Osward Chiti allegedly deceived and betrayed him in a shocking turn of events. Sammie Dee recounts, “I asked Osward to help me find a buyer for my car, a Toyota Mark X, but instead, he sold the vehicle and kept the proceeds for himself.” Despite numerous attempts to contact Osward and retrieve his money, Sammie Dee claims that he was met with excuses, lies, and eventually, silence.

The alleged betrayal has left Sammie Dee reeling, both emotionally and financially. “I was devastated by Osward’s actions,” Sammie Dee reveals. “He not only betrayed my trust but also left me financially drained. I was to sell my car to support my family, and Osward’s deception nearly led me to suicide. But for the love I have for my family, especially my son, I found the strength to keep going.”

Sammie Dee also implicates Osward’s wife, legendary musician Kay Figo, in the scandal, alleging that she was aware of her husband’s actions and attempted to cover for him. As Sammie Dee notes, “Kay Figo’s response to the situation was shocking. She dismissed my claims, saying I was ‘just stupid’ and that it wasn’t true. Her words cut deep, considering our close friendship.”

During their conversations, Sammie Dee recalls Osward’s arrogance and disregard for the law. “Osward said, ‘Even if you go to the police, nothing will happen. You’re just wasting your time.’ His words revealed his disregard for the law and his victims,” Sammie Dee says.

Sammie Dee reported the incident to Central Police twice and involved the Anti-Theft Unit, but to no avail. “I reported the incident to Central Police twice and involved the Anti-Theft Unit, but nothing happened until Osward’s arrest for unrelated claims brought hope to me, which I also went to Central Police again to add a case on him again, but nothing happened until I saw him being released, which crushed me,” Sammie Dee recounts.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage and support for Sammie Dee, with many in the music industry condemning Osward’s alleged actions. And by sharing his story, Sammie Dee hopes to recover his stolen vehicle, hold Osward accountable, and protect others from similar exploitation. “I have almost every recording of the conversations we had,” Sammie Dee asserts, resolute in his pursuit of justice, as his story serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of trust and integrity in the music industry and beyond.
