…A Beacon Of Hope For Chipangali Constituency
By TROY MUKUPA
In the heart of Eastern Province, specifically in Chipangali Constituency, the Andrew Zindhlu Lubusha Foundation is making a tangible difference in people’s lives. Under the leadership of Hon. Andrew Lubusha, Member of Parliament for Chipangali, and his wife, Ezzy Billy Lubusha, the foundation is driving development initiatives that have transformed the socio-economic landscape.

With a mission to supplement government efforts and drive development, the foundation has been instrumental in improving the lives of countless individuals and families. Hon. Lubusha’s philanthropic endeavors are deeply rooted in his life experiences. Reflecting on the inspiration behind the foundation, he shared that his own journey through hardship has instilled in him a profound appreciation for the value of support and kindness.

“I knew I had to do something to help my community,” he emphasized. This personal conviction is embodied in the foundation’s guiding principle, “DEEDS NOT WORDS,” which underscores its commitment to tangible action and meaningful impact.

The foundation has undertaken several initiatives, including road construction and rehabilitation, healthcare, education, and economic empowerment. The Link Chipangali 160Km project aims to improve the road network, while healthcare initiatives include constructing a maternity ward at Chanyumbu Rural Health Post and a staff house at Mikhunku Health Post.

According to Hon. Lubusha, “These initiatives have improved access to healthcare services, reduced healthcare costs, and enhanced the overall well-being of our people.”
In education, the foundation has provided support to several schools, including constructing a staff house at Nguluwe Primary School and donating materials to Kamkomole Primary School.

“The foundation’s support has been a game-changer for our school,” said a teacher at Nguluwe Primary School. “The new staff house has improved teacher morale, and our students are benefiting from a better learning environment.” Economic empowerment programs include providing small grants to marketeers and business people.
When the nation was hit with drought, the foundation responded swiftly, securing 5,000 bags of mealie meal valued at K700,000 for distribution to vulnerable households in Chipangali Constituency.

“The foundation’s support during the drought was a lifeline for our family,” said a beneficiary. “We are grateful for their kindness and commitment to our community.”
Recently, the foundation has taken another significant step in enhancing the lives of Chipangali residents. As Hon. Lubusha noted, “We have secured a 30-seater bus to supplement our already existing vehicles for the good people of Chipangali. The bus will add comfort to the transportation of our beloved people of Chipangali for various activities and occasions. We are mindful of our promises to the people of Chipangali and we are determined to confront head-on all the issues affecting the Constituency.”

Looking ahead, the Andrew Zindhlu Lubusha Foundation is committed to expanding its initiatives, with plans to launch new projects in agriculture, water and sanitation, and youth empowerment.
“We are committed to continuing our work and making a lasting impact in Chipangali Constituency,” said Hon. Lubusha. “Our goal is to empower the people of Chipangali to take charge of their development and build a brighter future for themselves and their families.”

With its unwavering commitment to delivering impactful results, the Andrew Zindhlu Lubusha Foundation is poised to remain a beacon of hope not only for the people of Chipangali Constituency but also beyond, fostering development and transforming lives for generations to come .
