Gabriel Kaoma, the aspiring councilor for Silwizya Ward 13, has continued his community-driven garbage collection initiative with a new rollout at the Garden Health Post, commonly known as Shimizo Clinic.

This initiative is a follow-up to last week’s successful launch, underscoring the Gabriel Kaoma Foundation’s commitment to promoting a clean and healthy environment for residents.

A representative at the health post highlighted the initiative’s significance, stating, “This initiative is crucial in preventing the spread of diseases and promoting environmental hygiene in the community, especially with the rainy season soon upon us.”

She added, “The collection of garbage will significantly reduce the risk of waterborne diseases and other health hazards associated with poor waste management, which tend to escalate during the rainy season.”

Kaoma expressed his dedication to the initiative’s success, affirming that the program will continue and be extended to other areas in the ward. He emphasized the importance of community collaboration, noting the warm reception the initiative has received.

“The community has shown remarkable enthusiasm and cooperation, and we are committed to continuing this initiative to create a cleaner and healthier environment for all,” Kaoma said.
The Gabriel Kaoma Foundation is undertaking the garbage collection initiative free of charge, demonstrating its commitment to serving the community.

Kaoma, who donated a canter truck to the community for garbage collection and to assist with logistics during funerals, has seen his efforts to promote environmental health and community development garner praise from residents and stakeholders alike.

As the initiative progresses, it is anticipated to yield a lasting impact on the community, fostering a sense of responsibility and ownership among residents.
With sustained support from the aspiring councilor and the Gabriel Kaoma Foundation, the residents of Silwizya Ward 13 can look forward to a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future.
