The woman, 63-year-old Abesta Mwiinga, a single parent and owner of the house, has been living in a precarious situation, with a severely damaged side wall since the devastating downpour on January 29, 2025. The house, which is home to eight family members, including Mrs. Mwiinga, has been rendered uninhabitable, with water seeping in and threatening to collapse the remaining structure. The Bank of Zambia has announced the introduction of a new family of the Zambian currency. The new family of banknotes and coins will consist of six banknotes (K500, K200, KlO0, K50, K20, and KlO) and six coins (KS, K2, Kl, SON, lON, and SN). These will be launched on March 31, 2025.
