CHUNGA PA TOP COMMUNITY INITIATIVE GROUP HOSTS PRESTIGIOUS ‘NIGHT OF EXCELLENCE’ AWARDS

The Chunga Pa Top community initiative group recently held its highly anticipated Recognition Awards, dubbed ‘Night of Excellence’, to celebrate outstanding achievements and contributions within the Chunga community. The prestigious event, which took place on January 1, 2025, at the Chunga Complex (Government Farms), recognized and honored individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence.

The evening’s festivities commenced with a keynote address delivered by the distinguished Guest of Honour, Dr. Febian Mumba. Dr. Mumba’s address was a highlight of the evening, as he pledged to sponsor 20 grade 7 pupils who passed to grade 8, comprising 10 students with outstanding academic results and 10 students from humble backgrounds. He also expressed his appreciation for the initiative, urging others to support this remarkable movement.

The awards presentation followed, where outstanding nominees were recognized for their remarkable contributions across various categories.

The event also featured live performances and entertainment, with notable acts including Kan J, JBoy Natipess, Tu Gee, and Alpha Romeo, who served as the main artist.

The winners of the night included an impressive array of individuals and businesses, each recognized for their exceptional achievements. Lucky Fortune Mbuni was named Business Person of the Year, while Yolanda The Advocate took home the award for The Best Uprising Star.

Other notable winners included Mr. Gomwi, recognized as The Best Shoe Repairer, and Jemaima’s Cakes and Bakes, awarded The Best Cake Baker. Pathways Daycare Pre and Primary School was named The Best Private School, and Victor Tarell Sitali was honored as The Most Influential Youth.

In the realm of sports, Faines Musukwa was recognized as Sports Personality of the Year, while Smart Media International took home the award for The Best Photographer. Job Delwolker Mwale was named The Best Actor, and Lusungu Mercy Muwowo was awarded The Best Actress. The evening also saw special recognition awards presented to Wilbroad Mutale and Mrs. Yvonne for their dedication to their work.

In a heartfelt vote of thanks, Director of Programs Martin Jr Kangwa expressed his gratitude to the attendees, sponsors, and organizers, stating,

“Tonight, we celebrate not only the achievements of our winners but also the collective efforts of our community. We are proud to recognize the outstanding contributions of our individuals and businesses, and we look forward to continuing our mission to empower and uplift our community.”
