Aspiring Councilor Gabriel Kaoma, affectionately known as ‘Mungeli’ by the locals, has emphasized the importance of inter-ward collaboration in the development of Silwizya Ward 13.

Speaking on Money FM Radio’s Breakfast Show this morning, hosted by renowned radio and TV personality Nelson Zulu, Kaoma noted that partnering with neighboring wards, such as Ngwerere Ward 31, will be crucial in driving progress and delivering essential services to the community.

Kaoma highlighted his close working relationship with current Councilor Adrian Banda and outlined key priorities for his development agenda.
When asked by Zulu about Banda’s confirmation that he won’t be standing in the next election, Kaoma said he is already building good relationships with those aspiring to take over from Banda.

He added that whoever the people of Ngwerere Ward 31 choose, he will work closely with them to bring development to the two wards that share boundaries as semi-twins.
A flagship project is the construction of a 24-hour hospital in Silwizya Ward 13, which will not only benefit local residents but also neighboring wards.

The current health post’s limited hours and capacity to serve over 15,000 people are significant concerns that the proposed hospital aims to address.
Notably, residents of Silwizya Ward 13 and Ngwerere Ward already share facilities, such as the Northmead market and healthcare services.

Kaoma emphasized that a collaborative approach will help to leverage resources and expertise, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for residents.
In preparation for the upcoming rainy season, Kaoma and his team, supported by local residents, have initiated a garbage collection program to mitigate the risk of disease.

This initiative will be extended to other parts of the ward, demonstrating Kaoma’s commitment to providing essential services and improving the well-being of his constituents.
