ESTHER LUNGU REGAINS CONTROL OF FORFEITED DOUBLE-STOREY FLATS

In a significant turn of events, former First Lady Esther Lungu has regained control and possession of her 15 double-storey flats, valued at over K61 million, located in Lusaka’s State Lodge area. The properties were previously forfeited to the state due to allegations that they were tainted.

The Court of Appeal’s ruling has stayed the judgment of the Economic and Financial Crimes Court at the Lusaka High Court, pending the determination of Esther Lungu’s appeal.

This development comes after the former First Lady lost her properties to the state, citing that they were proceeds of crime.

Esther Lungu had filed an appeal against the lower court’s decision, which is now awaiting determination. The appeal seeks to overturn the forfeiture of her properties, which were valued at K66 million.
