During a recent appearance on Millennium TV Zambia’s breakfast show, Gabriel Kaoma, a dedicated community leader and aspiring councilor for Silwizya Ward 13, underscored the imperative need for a councilor’s office in the ward.
The absence of a dedicated office has created a significant gap in community representation, hindering residents’ ability to access essential services, report concerns, and have their voices heard.

Kaoma, affectionately known as ‘Mungeli’, highlighted the ward’s myriad challenges, including inadequate waste management. In response to these pressing issues, he has spearheaded a garbage collection initiative, demonstrating his commitment to addressing community concerns.
However, Kaoma emphasized that a councilor’s office would provide a vital platform for residents to access support and services, fostering a more responsive and inclusive community.

Kaoma further elaborated on the importance of a councilor’s office, stating, “A key component of our vision and mission for Silwizya Ward 13 is the establishment of a councilor’s office, a critical infrastructure that will serve as a hub for community engagement, support, and services.”
He emphasized that the office will provide a dedicated platform for residents to access essential services, report concerns, and engage with their representatives, thereby enhancing community representation and fostering a more responsive and inclusive community.

“The establishment of a councilor’s office would be a pivotal step towards enhancing community representation and addressing the ward’s pressing issues,” Kaoma stated.
He added that the office, once in place, will bridge the gap between the community and local government, fostering a more collaborative and responsive approach to community development.

When asked about his aspirations and how he navigates rivalry, Kaoma remained resolute in his focus on the needs of the people. “My focus is squarely on what the people want to see – a developed Silwizya Ward,” he declared with conviction.
The lack of a councilor’s office has exacerbated the ward’s challenges, underscoring the importance of having a dedicated platform where residents can seek assistance, voice their concerns, and engage with their elected representatives.
