KABWATA LEGENDS TAKES BOLD STEP AGAINST ALCOHOLISM WITH “JUNTA KuWIRE” CAMPAIGN

In a trailblazing effort to reclaim their community from the devastating grip of alcoholism, Kabwata Legends has unveiled the groundbreaking “Junta KuWire” campaign, illuminating a beacon of hope for a brighter, healthier future. This bold initiative was marked by a thrilling display of youthful energy and determination, as the Catholic Church (Good Shepherd Congregation) youth team triumphed in the inaugural “Junta KuWire” football tournament on Christmas Day.

The event united teams from the United Church of Zambia (St. Paul’s), Reformed Church of Zambia (Kamwala), and Presbyterian Church of Zambia (Kabwata), fostering a spirit of unity and collective purpose in the pursuit of a more resilient, alcohol-free community.

Renowned former Zambia national team striker and current Green Buffaloes head coach, Masauso Tembo, graced the occasion, delivering inspirational talks that emphasized the importance of refraining from harmful alcohol consumption and developing one’s talents instead.

The “Junta KuWire” campaign, launched in partnership with local churches and stakeholders, aims to eradicate alcoholism in Kabwata constituency. According to the Chairman of Kabwata Legends, “We are committed to restoring Kabwata constituency to its former glory days, where young people prioritized education and nurturing their talents. Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter future for our youth.”
