Kitwe, Zambia – Aspiring Kitwe Mayor Charles Kabwita has vowed to transform the city into a modern, clean, safe, and inclusive hub if elected in 2026. Kabwita, a Political Science student and Patriotic Front member, outlined his vision for Kitwe, citing poor street lighting, lack of proper road signage, waste management, and underdeveloped settlements as major challenges.

“My strategy is to prioritize basic infrastructure first, because a safe, clean, and accessible city is the foundation for business, education, and health development,” Kabwita stated. “If elected, I pledge to prioritize waste management and road development, and foster partnerships with local businesses and community leaders to drive progress.”

Kabwita’s plan involves efficient resource mobilization, public-private partnerships, and transparency in project implementation. “Street lighting and road signage are essential for safety, security, and creating a modern city,” he emphasized.

Kabwita also stressed the importance of community engagement, promising to maintain open channels through town hall meetings, radio engagements, and social media updates. “I am committed to servant leadership, seeking your support not for personal gain, but to work together to build a city we can all be proud of,” he concluded.

With his experience and commitment to servant leadership, Kabwita is confident in his ability to bring meaningful change to Kitwe. “Having served at the grassroots, I understand the challenges firsthand,” he said. “I bring fresh energy, practical solutions, and a commitment to results. My message is clear: once elected, I pledge to work tirelessly to transform Kitwe and improve the lives of its residents.”
