Titus Lungu, aspiring Member of Parliament, has called on residents of Msanzala Constituency to prioritize electing leaders with a genuine commitment to development and the welfare of the people. Lungu made this call after visiting the dilapidated Matonga Health Post, which he attributed to a lack of serious leadership.

According to Lungu, the current leadership appears to have lost sight of their responsibilities to the people who elected them. He expressed disappointment with the state of infrastructure not only at the health post but also in some schools he visited, suggesting that leaders have distanced themselves from the people.

Lungu urged residents to hold their leaders accountable and to demand tangible results when they seek re-election.
“When they come asking for an extension of their mandate next year, you the people should ask them where they were when they were needed most in education, health, and other sectors that are currently in a sorry state,” he said.

The residents, who gathered to welcome Lungu and brief him on the challenges they face, welcomed his message. They thanked him for his initiative to repair the health post and the nurse’s quarters, which are also in disrepair.
Mrs. Elizabeth Phiri, representing the group, appealed to Lungu to continue serving the community with the same dedication and heart.
