Gabriel Kaoma, popularly known as ‘Mungeli’, has outlined a comprehensive roadmap to support the elderly population in Silwizya Ward 13. Speaking in an exclusive interview, Kaoma, who is vying for the office of councilor, emphasized the importance of creating an age-friendly community that values the contributions and supports the well-being of its seniors.

Under his leadership, Kaoma plans to foster intergenerational collaboration, leveraging the wisdom, experience, and skills of seniors to benefit the community. His initiatives prioritize accessible healthcare, empowerment programs, and civic participation, ensuring that seniors have a voice and a sense of purpose.
“We believe that our seniors are a valuable resource, and it’s our responsibility to support them in their golden years,” Kaoma said. “By working together, we can build a compassionate and inclusive community that honors our seniors’ dignity and promotes their thriving.”

Kaoma’s humanitarian arm, the Gabriel Kaoma Foundation, has already started supporting seniors, especially women who are running businesses to survive. The foundation provides zero-interest empowerment loans to boost their existing businesses, recognizing the critical role they play in sustaining themselves and their families.
“This initiative not only enhances their economic stability but also fosters a sense of purpose and dignity, allowing them to continue contributing to our community’s well-being,” Kaoma explained.

The foundation’s efforts have been well-received by the community, with many seniors expressing gratitude for the support. Kaoma’s vision for Silwizya Ward 13 is clear: to create a community that is truly inclusive and supportive of all its members, particularly seniors.
By prioritizing the needs of seniors, Kaoma believes that the community will not only improve the lives of its elderly population but also build a stronger, more resilient community that benefits everyone.

“I am committed to making this vision a reality,” Kaoma said. “Together, we can create a brighter future for our seniors and our community as a whole.”
