A police investigation has revealed that a couple found dead in their Misisi Township home appears to have died as a result of a murder-suicide.
According to Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga, preliminary investigations suggest that the husband, Penis Tembo, 37, allegedly killed his wife, Tionenji Tembo, 35, before taking his own life.

The bodies of the couple were discovered by concerned neighbors on February 3, 2025, after they had not been seen for two days. The neighbors broke into the house after finding the door locked from the inside with a metal bar.
Mr. Hamoonga reported that Tionenji Tembo’s body showed visible signs of injury, including facial swelling, bloody discharge, and bruises. In contrast, Penis Tembo’s body was found intact, with blood oozing from his mouth and a white substance coming from his nostrils.
The police investigation is ongoing, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
