The United Party for National Development (UPND) has suspended Matomola Likwanya, its Lusaka District Information and Publicity Secretary, from his position and party activities.
According to a letter signed by UPND Provincial Chairman Obvious Mwaliteta, the suspension is pending further investigation into Likwanya’s alleged misconduct at the Ministry of Community Development, which reportedly brought the party into disrepute.
The letter, seen by this publication, advises Likwanya to refrain from participating in all party activities until a thorough investigation is concluded.
In the letter, Mwaliteta stated that Likwanya’s suspension is due to his misconduct, which has brought the party’s name into disrepute, as per the party’s constitution.
