Lusaka, Zambia – Obbie Musunga Chomba, aspiring Member of Parliament for Munali Constituency, has concluded a fulfilling Sunday filled with spiritual fellowship and community engagement.
In an interview, Chomba expressed gratitude for the opportunity to interact with residents of Lubuto in Kalingalinga and Elvis Branch near UNZA, saying, “It has been an incredible and fulfilling Sunday – all praise and glory be to God.”
The event, held at Kalingalinga Primary School, was part of the Brethren in Christ Church’s Sunday service, which Chomba attended alongside his team. Later in the afternoon, Chomba and his team held two community engagements, listening to residents’ concerns and sharing their vision for Munali Constituency.
“Amatwi Kubantu” – “Ears to the People,” the team’s slogan, was put into practice as residents openly shared their challenges and disappointments with leaders. Many expressed frustration with non-responsive leaders who fail to address community needs.
Chomba emphasized the importance of leaders remaining close to the people, listening to their concerns, and genuinely sharing their pain. “As young people aspiring to public service, we carry a great responsibility to restore hope in our communities and rebuild trust in leadership,” he said.
The aspiring MP shared “The Munali We Want – Vision,” outlining plans to address community challenges and promote development. Residents appreciated the initiative, urging leaders to prioritize their needs.
Chomba thanked Kalingalinga residents for their warm reception, saying, “May God keep us all throughout this festive season.” His message of hope and commitment to community engagement has resonated with many, as he continues to engage with citizens and share his vision for Munali Constituency.
