Lusaka, Zambia – Renowned Zambian music talent Merigo has released a brand new song titled “Ukukwata Umwana”, featuring music producer, songwriter, and artist Dismanto. The song, produced by Dismanto, is now available on YouTube and other major streaming platforms.
In an interview, Merigo shared his thoughts on the song, saying, “Ukukwata Umwana tells a heartbreaking story of a man who cries over a child he feels obligated to provide for his partner, purely in the name of marriage”.
The song reflects the pressures and emotional struggles tied to traditional expectations of fatherhood and marital duties, resonating with listeners who have experienced similar challenges.
Looking ahead, Merigo promises more insightful songs in 2026, exploring themes that resonate with Zambian listeners. “Expect more music that speaks to the heart of our community and challenges societal norms,” he hints.
Merigo is set to perform at the famous Pa Chi Bus Bar – Nampundwe Mine Market on Christmas Day, December 25th, 2025, starting at 6pm. Other notable artists performing at the event include Chim D, Mr. B and Baraba. They will be supported by Bad Boy Killers, Mr. Twente, Light Of Zambia, Drigo Venom, and Chi Boy.
