In a heartfelt plea, residents of Silwizya Ward 13, Lusaka Central Constituency, have urged aspiring councilor, Gabriel Kaoma, to remember them if they elect him into office.
The residents made the appeal when Kaoma, affectionately known as ‘Mungeli’ by residents, made a stopover to greet some people by the roadside in the Luangwa area on Independence Day, after he had featured on Money FM Radio’s Breakfast Show.
Mrs. Banda, representing the women who were on their way to a church program, expressed gratitude for the zero-interest revolving empowerment loan program, under the auspices of his humanitarian organization, the Gabriel Kaoma Foundation, which has benefited many residents over the past years, including those at Northmead Market.
However, Mrs. Banda lamented that the current leadership in the ward has abandoned the people, leaving them feeling like orphans. She urged Kaoma not to forget the people of Silwizya Ward 13 if they elect him into office.
A local youth representative also thanked Kaoma for allowing youths in the ward to use his Northmead Fitness Center Gym free of charge on Fridays and Saturdays, an initiative which he said has benefited many youths in the ward by keeping fit and leading a healthy life.
The residents have vowed to prioritize electing leaders who genuinely care about their welfare, citing the current leadership’s absence as a lesson learned.
