๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ โ Music, culture and community collided in spectacular fashion on Saturday night as the inaugural Chibombo Music Festival delivered a night to remember.
Music lovers began streaming into One Jay Pub and Grill, formerly Feel Free, at 10 Miles as early as 15:00 hours for a show scheduled to start at 18:00 hours.

The festival eventually kicked off at 18:30 hours and ran into the early hours of Sunday, around 02:30 hours, as fans kept asking for more.
Headlining the debut was a star-studded line-up led by award-winning Afro-fusion and reggae artist Chris Aka, contemporary Kalindula, traditional pop and jazz legend James Chamanyazi Ngoma, the iconic Amayenge ASOZA Band, and songstress Anna Tembo.

The star-studded line-up was complemented by energetic performances from emerging artists Klephat Meek, Victor Nyirongo, Org Man, Jones, Simple Guy, among others.
Chris Aka, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the festival, delivered a commanding headline set backed by his live band, while Anna Tembo captivated the audience with her soulful vocals, taking revellers down memory lane.

The Amayenge ASOZA, one of Zambia’s most famous and enduring musical groups, raised the tempo with a trademark high-energy performance complete with dynamic dancers, turning the venue into a dance floor.
The atmosphere reached fever pitch when Chamanyazi took to the stage, drawing thunderous sing-alongs for his hits โNkhwaleโ (Analila Mulenga) and timeless classic โDiya Leloโ.

The crowd erupted into a standing ovation following the announcement that the festival will now be an annual event.
Speaking after his performance, Aka said the festival was about more than entertainment.

โMusic is a powerful unifier. This festival was created to celebrate Zambian culture, to give both legends and upcoming artists a platform, and to bring our community together. The overwhelming response has confirmed that Chibombo is ready. This is just the beginning,โ he said.

Eastluck General Dealers Chief Executive Officer, Luckford Phiri, who attended with his team, called for more corporate support for the arts.
โEvents like this drive youth empowerment and local economic growth. We are proud to support an initiative that positions Chibombo as a hub for creative tourism,โ Phiri said.

Organisers say plans for a bigger 2027 edition are already underway, marking a new chapter for the district as an emerging hub for arts and culture in Central Province.
