By TROY MUKUPA
Munali Constituency aspiring MP, Obbie Musunga Chomba, has pledged to maintain clean politics in his campaigns, focusing on issues rather than character assassination of his opponents.

In an interview, the 34-year-old independent candidate emphasized his commitment to a positive and respectful campaign, stating that his vision for Munali Constituency will be the central focus of his bid for the parliamentary seat.

Chomba declared his intention to contest as Member of Parliament for Munali Constituency in the 2026 General Elections last year and has already garnered major support from residents of Munali.

Chomba recently unveiled his vision for the constituency’s development, titled “The Munali We Want,” which is anchored on five pillars: Transparency & Accountability, Women & Youth Empowerment, Education, Environmental Sustainability, and Security & Community Safety.

Under his vision, Chomba promises to increase awareness and access to CDF opportunities for women’s cooperatives and establish youth craft and innovation centers for skills training.

In education, he plans to construct a three-storey education complex in Mtendere and ensure all vulnerable learners have access to CDF Scholarships and TEVETA sponsorship.

Chomba aims to develop long-term drainage systems, prioritize paving of critical feeder roads, and promote green spaces, tree planting, and climate-resilient infrastructure.

To ensure security and community safety, he proposes strengthening collaboration with the Zambia Police Service and introducing smart surveillance systems.

Chomba, who serves as Country Manager for Ethypharm, believes that his vision will transform Munali Constituency into a healthy, empowered, educated, clean, safe, and prosperous community. His vision is guided by principles of transparency, community participation, equity, and sustainability.
