Lusaka, Zambia – Obbie Musunga Chomba, the independent aspiring Member of Parliament for Munali Constituency, has expressed confidence in his chances of winning the seat, stating that he is “hundred percent confident” of securing the position even if the elections were held today.

In his first 2026 interview unveiling plans for Munali Constituency on Money FM, 34-year-old Chomba says his confidence stems from the people who’ve resonated well with the “Munali We Want Vision” document.

“I’m hundred percent confident of winning the Munali seat because the people are confidently rallying behind us and our vision,” Chomba said.

“They’ve read the vision, they’ve understood it, and they’ve embraced it. When people resonate with a message, they own it, and that’s what’s happening in Munali. I’m confident because I know the people are with me.”

“The ‘Munali We Want Vision’ is not just a document, it’s a movement and a commitment to uplifting the lives of every resident – youth, women, workers, entrepreneurs, parents, and children, including senior citizens,” Chomba said.

He emphasized that the document’s message, which promises a Munali that is “healthy, empowered, educated, clean, safe, and prosperous,” has resonated well with the people.

Chomba urged Munali residents to work with him, stating, “Munali belongs to all of us, and the future is ours to shape.”

He expressed gratitude to residents for their trust in him since announcing his candidacy, emphasizing that his intention is to serve the people of Munali, not to pursue personal ambitions.

“I don’t take your trust and support for granted,” Chomba said. “My aspiration is to serve the people of Munali better.”
